University Transitions to Illinois App for Building Access

Daily Illini

The University of Illinois is recommending that students, faculty and staff transition to using the Illinois app to display their COVID-19 Building Access Status.

Building Access status is already available on the Illinois app, while more details about health records can be accessed via the McKinley Health Center portal.

In addition to displaying Building Access status, the Illinois app includes other features such as event calendars, an MTD bus pass, access to the Illini Cash wallet, and a campus guide.

Students are encouraged to download the Illinois app from the Apple App Store or from Google Play before the Spring semester of 2022 begins.

University administration will notify students and staff before retiring the Safer Illinois app. It remains active and usable for now. The COVID-19 boarding pass will also continue to serve as an alternative way for faculty, staff, and students to display their Building Access status.
